A Story of Restoration and Community Aspiration
The McClellan Place
1890
McClellan Zinn established his farm implements business by building a warehouse at 12 East Chapel Avenue, expanding five years later with a showroom at 133 South Hanover Street
Condemned and Blighted
2014
Ninety-two years after McClellan’s passing, Eric and Kathleen purchased the condemned and blighted McClellan Place, beginning the restoration.
Zoning Approval
2019
With the main showroom building restored, Moon Bird Distilling obtained zoning approval to install a craft distillery.
Distillery Built
2024
With the distillery’s core infrastructure in place, Moon Bird starts distilling operations at The McClellan Place.
Open to Public
2026
The 12-year revitalization effort is officially complete. We welcome the community to experience our brick oven pizza and craft cocktails mixed with Moon Bird whiskey, gin, and vodka.
