Spirits are only part of what happens in this building. The gallery wall turns over every month, and there’s live music most weekends — both free, both open to anyone who walks in.
On the wall: Della Whitcomb
August’s wall belongs to Della Whitcomb, a printmaker working out of a converted garage studio in Mount Holly Springs. Her series this month, Ninety Feet of Water, is a set of eleven linocuts of creeks and mill dams around the Yellow Breeches — heavy black lines, one or two colors, printed by hand on cotton paper. Up close you can see where the block caught unevenly, which is the whole point.
Every piece on the wall is for sale, and the full amount goes to the artist — we don’t take a cut. If something catches your eye, ask anyone behind the bar and we’ll put you in touch directly.

No cover, no reservations. The tavern gets busy on music nights, so if you want a table, come thirty minutes before the set starts. The kitchen runs until close, so the brick oven is going through the whole show.
